I hope its ok to post as I have a similar issue - I do have EPB and its on an Auto - which for the longest time we have not used the brake which I know is not good for the transmission but anyway.... ...

I may have found a culprit, definitely a starting point

Split hose from the throttle body to intercooler

We have a 13my that had issues when we bought it - garage replaced EGR - so they said. That was 2 years ago and yesterday it went into limp mode and then cleared.

Given your it took 6 hour ...
