Well spotted. Have you bought one? Is it any good? I could have done with this a couple of months ago and probably saved my knuckles. Now , thanks to Freel2.com, I could have a good go at writing my own. - 2007(57) XS Auto, Rimini Red, Alpaca Leather.

It does exactly what it says on the Ebay advert. Chapters on all the main service requirements, along with information on what is needed for each job, and colour pictures to show where to look

Plus, also has some useful information - torque settings, part numbers, bulb specifications and the like.

Since vitually all of the regular service items are achievable by the home mechanic with no 'special' tools (other than those in a standard home mechanics tool kit, or fairly easily and cheaply available) it would seem a far cheaper option than a garage service (or the even greater cost at the dealer)

Having bought a home service manual after seeing this thread I'd have to say that most of the work required to service your FL2 yourself is pretty trivial. The manual is very clear and easy to follow and the only procedure that looks remotely complex is changing the fuel filter - which requires recharging the unit with fuel to avoid an air lock.

I have not really done much of my own vehicle maintenance for the past three decades of company cars and then having sufficient money to be able afford to have someone else do it for me. Maybe I'll get back to looking after my own cars when I retire in a few years time when, no doubt, I'll be time rich and cash poor (based on the current performance of my pension funds).

However, I always buy a Haynes manual whenever I get a new car - and I was slightly disconcerted to find there wasn't one for the FL2. But with this site and the Home Service Manual, I should be okay.

Yer Ive been waiting for haynes to release a manual, probably only a matter of time now but for most things on The fl2 is straight forward if you have some basic knowl how

The Home Service Manual contains a copyright notice. It would be illegal to make copies of the manual for resale or place the content on a website without the author's permission (which I suspect would not be forthcoming). The map is not the territory
