New member and question

Hello all,

This is my first post so please be gentle! Very Happy

First let me say I am a massive fan of the green oval, I spend a fair bit of time in Defenders off-road but this is my first foray into my own LR (I certainly wont be pushing her too hard off road... well not to start with Wink .

I am looking to get myself a lovely new FL2, my ideal spec is probably as follows:

SE TD4 Auto
Stornoway with leather, xenons and privacy glass Cool .

I just wondered whether anybody has any recommendations or experience of brokers or if the dealerships can be pushed to match the discounts on offer from some brokers.

For example a quick search on the web has found me a price of £29,838 with the options as opposed to £32015 from the latest dearlers pricelist. I'd hope to do even better than this by actually speaking to someone.

I want to finance this on a pcp scheme as I want to keep my monthly payments as low as poss.
I plan to part ex my current car to produce a 10-12% deposit.

Bit of a whopping first post I know, but I'd be grateful for any input or recommendations of my best route to take.

Many thanks
Mike

I managed to get my local Stratstone Dealer to match an internet deal but they could not get me the car I wanted so I took the internet deal and got the best price for my trade in too. Very Happy

I took Land Rover Freedom PPP so I got cashback on my P/X, no monthly payments and options to hand back, purchase or p/x at the end of my contract - a cracking deal all round I think. Thumbs Up

Welcome to the forums Mike. Hopefully I can help you with a broker recommendation: WWW.MHCFINANCE.CO.UK
These guys sponsor the forums, post as Kam100 over on D3/RRsport.co.uk etc and I have just used them to buy my new car. Excellent service from both the broker and the dealer, in London, who supplied my car and took my old one in as a part ex.
Give Kam an email with exactly what you are looking for and he will get back VERY quickly with an offer. They also do finance on extremely flexible PCP's (ie no milage limitations/ low interest rates etc) How can carbon have a footprint, it has no feet?
Now driving - RRE Coupe Dynamic Lux Auto with Plus pack, Fuji White, Ebony, SD4 with tow pack
Gone - 2010MY FFRR TDv8 Stornoway and Ivory, Privacy - the pace of a TDv8 RRS, the incomparable grace of a Range Rover
Gone but will be missed- RRS Tdv8 HSE Stornoway Grey with Ebony Leather
Gone (only a little missed) RRS Tdv6 2.7SE Giverny Green/Aspen
Defender 90 County HT in Epsom Green

United Kingdom 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Sumatra Black

Hi Mike,
I had pretty good success using an on-line broker, who passed my details out to a network of dealers who then each contacted me with their best price (which varied considerably!!)

Anyway, the best quote (I believe it was from a LR dealer in Guildford) I then took to my local dealer – Beadles in Sidcup (Kent) and asked them to match.

They did, and in the end I paid £27315 OTR for a new FL2 SE TD4 Manual in Sumartra Black, Napoli Leather Pack (Ebony), 18in HSE 12 spokes, privacy glass and full size spare, going by the May 2007 price list, a saving of just over 3k on list..
Thumbs Up
I’m due to take delivery on the 10th December… but am in the middle of trying to justify the £1300 for the sports styling pack (it’s a dealer fit option which they will supply and fit for £1633)… arghhh – decisions!
Good luck with you purchase!

Mike it is a dealer fitted kit, not factory fit, so it depends if you get the first day on the job apprentice or the bodyshop manager fitting it as to how well the job is done! It's only held on with industrial double sided sticky pads and a few clips nothing technical like screwing it onto the car! How can carbon have a footprint, it has no feet?
