Sat Nav and Stereo Intermittent

Just got an 07 SE (yes it's black) and the sat nav and stereo keep switching on and off simultaneously. Yesterday, half an hour into a long run it started again, on off every 20 secs until I stopped and switched off. Then started up again and it seemed to fix itself. This morning flicking on and off for a couple of minutes and then settled down. You usually get a warning couple of hiccups from the stereo before it happens.

Sounds to me as likely as a loose connection, harder still would be finding it as it would probably mean a bit of a 'dash' stripdown.

First off I would check F6 and F29 in the passenger side fuse box and FD1 in the boot fuse box for integrity.

I knew someone that said their stereo kept going on and off intermittantly, turned out it was his faulty hearing aid, not the car Laughing I was only wrong once and thats when I thought I was but wasnt.

Mines done the same, although only about half dozen times in 20 mths, took it to the dealer but no joy! Although it would be tricky to find!

Similar story with mine, after 10 months of ownership the radio and Sat Nav have turned themselves off and immediately re-booted on at least 4 separate occasions. It always seems to happen when I use the steering wheel control to change radio channel, but not every time.
Something else for the short list of problems to be mentioned at the 1st service!

Thanks for your thoughts. Checked and waggled the fuses, bashed the dash and surrounds, took the DVD out an cleaned it (matt finish!!) wobbled every cable that might make a difference. Today everything worked properly and fired up even faster than usual. No beeps just straight up and running. Don't you just hate it when you seem to fix something and yet you don't know how. I suppose time will tell, but I fear the worst. I also now wait at least 5 secs from key fob in to pressing start button. Read that somewhere on here.

Shocked Thought it was - key fob in, press start then once running don't touch anything for 3 - 4 seconds, any way that's what I do and all has been well so far Thumbs Up .
