LR arn't the cheapest and it's only a front for an underwriting company!
I'd try GoCompare and MoneySupermarket, together they cover 85% of the market, then do seperate quotes for Direct Line and others not covered by comparison web sites, then make a decision. Also visit topcashback, if you go via this sort of web site, you can get up to 50 quid back. Of course whats cheap for me, might not be cheap for someone else. Postcodes, occupation, garaged etc.
Last week, I renewed the FL with LV, protected no claims, 150 max excess, comprehensive for 223 quid and I get a tenner back going via cashback web site.
