Thule Atlantis 200 roof box - withdrawn from sale 20/4/11

Thule Atlantis roof box in virtually as new condition, complete with both keys.

440 litres.

Virtually perfect order and immaculately cared for. Has only picked up a virtually invisible 15-20mm very light surface scratch on the rear edge.

Absolutely no wind noise, completely waterproof and took my mpg down from around 30 to about 28mpg on a run on our old Cooper S.

Opens on both sides.

Gloss silver finish - polished several times Rolling Eyes

And this is how well it's been looked after while it's not been in use (that's a specially built suspended shelf Wink )

Very sad to part with it, but it's simply no longer needed!

Internet "street price" new: £300 + Carriage

http://www.roofbox.co.uk/scripts/rbvehsel4...hPHGZxZBjP

Offered at £160, with local delivery possible, within reason.... (situated on Devon/Cornwall border)

(Roof rack and MINI not included!)

I'm driving up to Leeds on business early in June (staying overnight on the 7th and 8th, I think) so I could even pit it in the back of the Volvo and deliver it FOC!.... Would that help you? Very Happy

Quite possibly it may help Very Happy

I presume the feet will fit the OEM Landrover wide roof bars?

I'll see if I can work out dimensions to what we will need tomorrow, and let you know ASAP Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

The clamps are a completely brilliant design and will securely clamp on to just about anything without damaging anything. If you could confirm the cross sectional dimensions of the bars I'm happy to double check for you.

Best place to check one out is in Halfords - they usually have them on display.

I'll leave it with you. One thing I found really handy was to take along a typical bag / suitcase or 2 to the shop. I'd have bought a smaller box if I hadn't realised how easy it was to run out of space in the smaller boxes...

United Kingdom 2010 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Rimini Red

LR roof cross rails are 3" wide, a few of the Thule 'easy fit' type claw fittings claim to just cope with 3" so worth checking, otherwise you are into the bolts from the rail channels and problems connecting inside the box, Something I am still exploring tho a guy at Halfords said it works with one bolt per corner and a screw down plastic cover nut from the inside.
A 200 box is on the small side depending on how much you need to carry?? Compare Mini and box to FR2 and box in relative size....... Upgraded to an ex demo, 7 mth old, Rimini Red/Ebony Napoli Auto HSE on 28th Jan 2011, added roof rails, mudflaps and side strips.
Gone - A great 57 Plate, Auto SE, Bought Feb 2009, Roof Rails and Mudflaps added on purchase. Blue colour, anything but drug dealer black.....

I've measured the maximum width of the clamping mechanism and it's definitely 3".

Do bear in mind that the 200 box is, in fact, 440 litres (rather than 200). Most boxes are smaller, though a few are bigger. Over to you on that one....

John.

I'm just on my way back from the Freelander factory, with a few nights away thrown in Very Happy

We're in the Focus and we're packed out in the car Sad As soon as we pick the Freelander up at the end of June we've then got a week away in Cumbria and there seems no point in all but giving this brilliant box away. I'm going to get some roof cars for the Freelander and we're going to put the box back in use - it's much more civilised in the car when it's not full of stuff!!

ive had a chat with the missus, though the boot will be full to the roof, we couldn't work out what we would actually need to put in a roofbox, apart from junk we wouldn't really need, everything else could fit in the 'van

We're in Cumbria and the Thule is on the roof of the Freelander and it works a treat! Thumbs Up Not the slightest wind noise and as waterproof as ever.

If anyone needs to free up 440 litres of space inside the car to make things a bit more civilised, it's definitely the way to go!

If anyone is considering buying one of these and wants to know what it looks like on a Freelander, it looks something like this:
