Seating position

Despite the FL2 being higher up than rivals such as the x-trail and Kuga etc, I was parked up next to an x-trail and I seemed to be on a par. I have now altered the seat position as it was quite low.

Having now jacked it up much higher and altered the position of the wheel and mirrors I feel much more comfortable. I feel I can lord it over mere mortals in their 2WD cars even more now Laughing and still plenty of headroom to spare.

Do you guys have the seat set high or are there some of you that prefer a lower setting? (I suppose how tall we are will have a say in matters! I'm 6ft) LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

I have mine as high as it goes, very comfortable and gives you a great view. (I am a short arse though!!)

Mine will go higher but the steering wheel would begin to block the instrument dials and I like the wheel angle where it is.

I am 6' 3'' so have mine set to the lowest setting.

It's fun to move the seat back and forth electrically with your feet in the air, feels like a fairground ride!

I remember the 5th gear review of FL2 vs X-Trail and the guy criticised the X-Trail for being to low, unlike the mighty FL2:  LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

I prefer to have it low as i can get it. Just feel right for me, very comfortable.

But.......when going off road, i do go up a little bit, just to be able to see more of what is going on outside.

seat adjustment

The trouble is that as the seat goes up it tilts forward(as with just about every other car) and makes the seat base too flat for me.Why can't car manufacturers make their seats go up vertically so the cushion angle stays the same.I have put some longer bolts and spacers under the front of the seat to keep the angle as the seat goes up.I think the seats are the worst part of the Freelander. Stornaway grey SE auto with 18" alloys

longer bolts spacers could fail an mot, maybe remove before the test to save hassles? At work
