Well after a lot of thought and 10 months of ownership covering just 7k miles in my FL2. I decieded to trade it in for a Brand New Honda CR-V EX

Well I know what your all gone say already. And I know off road I'd need a FL2 to pull me outta the c p But when I think of it how often do we ever go off road? All the Freely's I seem to see are polished up to the eyeballs and mine was just the same.! I think most of us pay around 30k for a car and look after it.

So I thought well I'm tired of all the main dealer costs that I may incur at a latter stage, the excessive MPG and the servicing costs (that was coming up) and went out and traded mine for the Honda.

Got a good deal and hardly lost a bean on my Freely, plus the Honda came with 3 years free servicing all thrown in. Went for the top spec EX model 2.2 litre manual (did try the auto) but deceided to stick with a manual.

I'm not trying to convert you all (as this is a FL2 site) and I'll still pop bye and have a read on here. But as for build quality and spec I'd certainlly say at the moment after only 150 miles its a lot more refined than Landrover.

Very nice motor mate. What you have got is legendary reliability, no question, Honda's are very reliable.

I like the CRV, nothing against it. Besides the obvious off road capabilities which you have already mentioned isn't an issue, the FL2 has a greater road presence I feel, better ride quality and better image (being LR) (not sure how residuals compare) but other than that its a good choice. The only other issue is that if you do encounter some heavy duty snow next winter, I suspect the CRV will tackle some stuff but won't be cut out for the major stuff as the FL2 would be. Still, a set of wintracs would probably help to offset that.

good job you went for black as the CRV has one of the worst fronts I have ever seen on a car! I have never understood why there is a gap between the grille and the bumper, it looks like something is missing, its worse on other colours, less noticable on black.

We had lease CRV's in Asia, for five years.

Ofcourse easy cars, cheap, etc, etc. The economical choice.

But no soul................. and boring as hell.

I like it so far.. This one has all the toys being top of the range

Voice activated sat nav with live traffic updates is very good. And you even get a spare wheel at no extra cost  telfire
