Thanks for the info. 2 hours !? - must be 1hr 40mins of coffee & donuts - then 20mins work ![]() I'm not sure whether the handbrake acts on all 4 wheels or just the rear ? Anyway - the Dealer has just contacted me in relation to a s/w update to cure the "auto-folding" mirror problem - so I'll get them to look at the handbrake at the same time. But I'm going to have a look myself at the weekend. Just need to wrap up well - was about -3 this weekend ! ![]() |

I would say it would be under the handbrake lever gaitor, try and lever it out and lift it up. I know nothing as I dont have the car yet but that would be my first place to look. On several other cars you lift out the passenger ashtray at rear of handbrake. |

I was just about to say the same. Read about it in a recent discussion - can't remember who or when ![]() I seem to recall handbrake is the rear wheels only - with brake shoes fitted behind the brake disks. I also seem to recall that there was an adjuster on the shoes behind a small access hole. Sorry if that isn't really much help - best of luck - think mine needs adjusting too. ![]() 2002 Toyota Celica 140 Silver (mid life crisis - again!) 2007 FL2 GS Manual Army Reconnaissance Green + freel2.com sticker ![]() 2004 Toyota Celica 140 Black - Gone 2000 Toyota Celica 140 Silver - Gone 1998 Toyota Celica ST Pearl Green - Gone 1996 Nissan Primera 1.6 - Gone 1994 Rover Montego 1.6 Auto - Gone |

There was an earlier thread somewhere. It was suggested, I think, that the shoe mechanism can seize and cause adjustment problems. |
