Crash... NCAP verified!

I'm sorry to say that a few days ago I was involved in a big crash. Big Cry Censored
I was driving down a twisty mountain road and that thick (and fat) lady was going up in the opposite direction. After turning she decided she would come straight into my lane opposite to me with no hesitation! Censored Censored I tried to move out of the way, almost made it, but she decided she would come back straight onto me again. Sorry to say I could not avoid her again so the bl**dy thing happened.
First of all, luckily, nobody was injured! The fat lady came out of a Ford Fiesta apologising and I got out trying to behave and not beat her up. Before you ask, the car wasn't mine and this made it even worse - from one point of view. After my blood pressure got back to normal, I could see that the Fiesta was a real mess. The whole engine compartment had gone into pieces and, front airbags opened - I think it cannot be easily repaired.

The Fl2 was almost intact! Ok, front bumper broke, as was the radiator and whipers tank, right fog light and a small bent at the right front wing, but apart from that everything else was ok - I could even start it and drive it on the LR Assistance track, which we had to use as there was no radiator fluid left. Big Cry

Note: Grill in front of the FL2 is from the Fiesta

So I had to find out the hard way, the car drives great and definitely deserves the 5-star from EuroNcap judging from the severety of the crash. Thumbs Up
I just was so sorry about the owner who would have to deal with the repairing. Sometimes fate is not on our side I'm afraid, but at least nothing very serious happened, so maybe fate was in favour after all. Exclamation Idea Question Evil or Very Mad Crying or Very sad Sheep

PS. BTW one more rule verified, concerning women drivers... Whistle

Glad no one was seriously hurt surprised the'thick fat' lady wasn`t wedged in whats left of the fiesta Shocked looks like a bit of uneven fight the FL2 is obviously not that fond of the mother company Laughing

Yep not a fair fight, but still difficult to believe that the FL2 came out of this with such small damage! Bow down
Just take a look at the Fiesta! It has to be thrown in the trash! Censored Twisted Evil
One more thing, I think it's not the mother company the FL2 don't like it's Censored thick stupid drivers who put our lives in danger for nothing. Sorry for all those Censored, but I think I have every right to Censored Censored Censored !
PS. Was it npinks or NightFox who compared the two cars a few weeks ago? Sorry guys if I don't remember correctly, no offence meant, it's just the years summing up to my age... (I voted in the relevant post, but can't say what it'll be a surprise when I visit you in Britain - soon I hope)

Hi Def.

Glad you're OK and no one was hurt, hope you blood pressure is somewhere near normal again!

That really is amazing, the difference in the damage the the two vehicles is very surprising. The FL2 certainly doesn't have the damage I expected after seeing the first picture.

As a matter of interest did your airbags activate?

Thanks for your kind words. No the airbags did not activate. The only damage was what you can actually see in the pic. Exclamation

I had a young lady in a previous model Honda Civic drive into the back of my FL2 one month after I bought it... FL2: bent towbar electric bracket and scuffed bumper Civic: smashed headlamp, crumpled bonnet, 2 grooves cut into the bonnet from my detachable towbar bracket.. The front of the Civic went under the back of the FL, I barely felt. it. Her first comment after 'Sorry' and upon comparing damage was 'I should get one of these!' The FL2 is a car I'm happy to drive my family around in.
