Sounds like a good game but don't ever run out if you've got a catalyst. the partial misfires as the last few drops are incorrectly metered, will cook the catalyst and may even melt the substrate (the ceramic honeycomb that the clever chemistry sits on with the exhaust wafting over it).

Isn't it impossible to completely run out of diesel, as the engine will shut down first? Which means you don't need to prime it when you restart as the fuel line will still be full. Don't know if it's the same for petrols, but if so that would protect the cat. |

On a vaguely similar note, does anyone know at what point the fuel light is supposed to come on?

Mines the same, I posted this on another thread I think about a month ago, just below a a quarter of a tank the light came on with a range of 36 miles remaining, when I filled it up it took 63 litres so five litres was remaining in the tank giving me the 36 miles remaining. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior |

The light comes on when the range is at 50 miles. Also the built in sat nav tells you were the nearest filling stations are! |

Hair raising moment not knowing whether I'd make it today! lol 0 miles for 10 miles and it didn't go into limp mode phew! What is the reserve capacity at 0 miles ? When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car |

My best one was coming back from belgium in my little yellow Fiat Siecento - there doesnt seem to be a petrol station anywhere between Bruges and Dunkirk. When we got to the port the needle was well past the empty marker. It was about 35C and had to queue to get thru passport control for 2 hours, moving about 10ft every 20mins, had to keep starting the engine.
