Australia 2007 Freelander 2 i6 SE Auto Tambora Flame

Just to follow up on this.

When selling my old (very old) car this last fortnight, I used a Meguires spray wax and was very impressed with how easy it was to apply and the fact it worked on everything; the paint, the trims, the windows. It all looked super shiny after a quick spray and polish.

So last night I used what I had left of it on the FL2 and again I am impressed with the finish. I didn't have enough to do a really good job (I ended up just rubbing the polish-on cloth over the roof) but it came up brilliant again. And like I said, you can even use it on the plastic trims and it seems to moisten them just nice. And the windows shine great too.

The product I used is http://www.meguiars.com.au/productdetail_2...amp;show=1 if anyone is interested. (I am not affiliated with Meguires in anyway).

I thought it was a cheaper alternative to proper wax, since it was about $25 from Supercheap Auto, but it only lasted 3 sessions, so perhaps a $75 tub of wax would be better.

Can anyone advise whether the hard wax type polishes you get could also be applied to the trims or do you have to be super careful to dodge them? Does anyone else use car-polish on their windows?

Cheers,
Whytey 1st time FL2 owner. 2007 SE i6 in Tambora Flame.

I've tried many Whytey, from cheap to expensive and I can tell you this takes a lot to be beaten. It's available in a paste (recommended), liquid and a top up detailer spray. I'm sure there are many other brands but I'm just saying this stuff IMHO is excellent. Slap it everywhere including windows (But not front) Best put on with a damp sponge, takes a bit of getting off with a microfibre but to me that's a good sign. Not sure how easy it will be for you to get it over there but surely worth a google.

If you want a great hard wax try Autoglym high definition wax (but stay well clear of your plastics !)

Things like the Meguiers NTX wax come in both liquid and hard paste, both Identical products but its down to what you prefer

I like my wax in a jar over the liquids or paste, but resently i bought a liquid wax, which was so easy to use and seem to last a while, In a week or two when i sort my car out, I keep think why go to all the hardship of the hard wax when the liquid was so easy

And then for topping up i use DoDo Juice Red Mist Tropical as a spray on/wipe off sealant after each wash, which i use on windows also.

I use Carlack Glass Sealant on my windows, makes the water bead and run off Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis
