In Conti's defense they are coming out with an all terrain tire that has better tread wear and a good aggressive tread. It's called the Conti contact A/T |

Why would you want ot put on 255 50's? It'll ruin the ride. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come......... |

I was looking through available tyres and there seemed to be more choice in the 255 x 50 than 235 x 55, why do think they would ruin the ride the diameter is nearly the same only the width differs, anyway I have decided to play it safe and go for 235 x55 Pireli Scorpion Verde, thanks go to mkt29 for the heads up. What if there were no hypothetical situations? |

Sometimes a person wants a good off road tire. Especially here in The US where we have alot of off road trails. |

Gunfa - Did you go with the Pirelli Scorpion Verde's? I am looking at these but would like to know how they handle in snow. I did not like the Conti's, so am considering the Verde's. mburti |

I did put 4 Pireli Scorpion Verde on the Shadow Chrome Rims. handling and grip seem ok, no snow since I had them fitted so can't help you there, I have a set of 17" wheels with Wrangler M & S tires for the winter so the Pireli's may never see snow.

I've not been able to find a good review of the Pirelli Verde's A/S in winter conditions. They appear to be new to the market, so probably not many have seen snow yet. They claim that the tire has improved fuel economy due to less rolling resistance... which doesn't sound good for traction. I'll likely put winter rubber on my 19's. I don't want to invest in another set of wheels but don't want to risk the same poor snow performance as the Conti's. mburti |
