I was blasting down the A38 with 0 miles left and 2 miles to the filling station!! It went into low power mode.
Foot welded to the floor made no difference at all but I made it and filled up!

Not done it since. Laughing LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

Didn't he drive from somewhere in Switzerland and the destination was Blackpool, they had a full tank in Switzerland and had to get as far as they could, I remember the fuel light came on a Birmingham and stilled made it to Blackpool. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

It was a Jaguar XJ6 TDVi. He drove for ages with 0 miles but when the tank was later examined there was still enough fuel for another 120 miles Shocked

He also did london to endinburgh and back again - 800 miles in a v8 diesel A8. He made it even though he hit 0 miles somewhere on the M40...

He had to hypermile the whole way of course and did'nt run any ancileries but even so impressive stuff from a 4l v8 diesel

If you want make it really interesting try the same trick in an aircraft. OK, it wasn't showing quite zero but I so wished I had filled up when I had the chance. Learned a lesson.

WRONG. You might not like him but he knows about cars and although he probably does not know how to do engineering, he knows about it. His programme on brunel was excellent.

I accept your opinion about him but the other comment is just a jibe with no factual basis. He admits to not knowing how all the intricate engine parts all work but for knowledge of cars and performance etc etc, he is ace.

He's an arrogant p Censored k but brilliant narration on the Brunel documentary. Oh and he hasn't a good word to say about farmers, so he can't be all bad. Laughing
