2011 Freelander 2 TD4_e XS Manual Lago Grey

clutc problems on 2011 freelander 2

hi 2011 freelander xs manual 7295 miles i have noticed that twice on my freelander when i have driven fairly
hard that i get a smell of burning friction linings after reading the problems with manual freelanders and the 2011 that this vehicle has a smaller bhp than the 2010 freelanders but has a higher torque on the 2011 spk
if the clutch has not been upgraded this may be the problem mine is booked in at l/rover bury next week.

HI TRAWLERMAN ,SUPPOSED THEY WILL TRY ME WITH SOME BULL S*** ME ,NOT THIS TIME I HAVE GOT PLENTY OF PROOF OF THIS SITE,MAY BE A CLUTCH ISSUE WITH THE MANUAL VERSION.

I bet they havent made any modifacations to the clutch housing yet so if they havent then theres the same old fault that has plauged the early models

Could be the dreaded DMF.
You should be able to get it fixed under warranty. Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

Sometimes though if the car is relatively new and driven hard the paint will start to burn off the exhaust and manifolds, this can sometimes smell like burnt linings, so it could be just paint burning off where its got really hot. I was only wrong once and thats when I thought I was but wasnt.

think the paint smells should have all gone now but they did ask me at l/r gararge on the phone did it smell like rotting
veg what do thay put in these cars these days ,do you think it may have something to do with the d.p.f filter allready
had one issue with this had to call l/r responce out when it went into crawl mode on the engine took it to the dealer they said it needed a software update been ok since then all seams ok rainy-city
