You could speak to the dealer, and offer not to tell the press about the dangerous socket set in the engine bay, and see if you can't get a driver training day, some nice extras, or anything else that ay be worth more than the socket set would go for.

Well accidents can happen, the most i have found in my cars is a old screwdriver. But you should tell the dealership, as this "could" have caused major problems to your car. Sure they maybe missing them but, a poor mechanic normally has to buy his own tools, so, post an anomanous letter telling them their sockets are on ebay, for a small price |
