Tow rope

Found this on amazon but I have a question guys http://www.amazon.co.uk/AA-Heavy-Duty-Tow-...amp;sr=8-3

I don't have a towbar on my FL2 as I wouldn't get any use out of it but if a friend or relative got stuck in some snow for example, would I be able to hook the above rope up to my towing eye and then attach to the other cars towing eye and pull them out of trouble without causing either vehicle any problems?

That rope is too short for a proper recovery. A 3m rope is for towing purposes.
The recovery ropes, on the other hand, are generally over 7 meters long.
You don't want to be (and sometimes you can't be) too close to the immobilised car in order to not have the same fate. Sometimes you even need to use two or more ropes in series.
And for snow and mud recovery it is used a kinetic rope.
Besides the fact that it didn't generates shocks on the chassis of the cars, it will accumulate energy - by its stretch - that it is then used to add to the power of the towing car.
As for the tow points, I would never use the tow bar. It is too weak rated for the tensions that could appear during recovery. Also the tow ball could get loose and/or break and become a "bullet".
The tow points of the car are much solid and are made for such things.
Look at the little tutorial below. Especially at 7:40 for your question.
