Just been quoted £480 after discount for the big 4yr service on our freel2 at hunters derby very steep me thinks when 5 mins later i was quoted £360 for the same service at stratstone nottingham!! this price includes collecting the car and returning it afterwards ,needless to say i booked it in immediately and i am now very very pleased.

My fourth service was £230 from my local Audi independent ( who used genuine Land rover parts) who i have been using for the past 15 years. I would never take my car to a main stealer for a service. Having worked in the trader some years ago i know what corners are cut on servicing and the over inflated prices they charge. I feel i get a far better standard of work from where i take my car to than i would ever get at any Land Rover dealer, and it costs my almost half the price But thats just my opinion

£360 is still a lot of money. The LR boys certainly know how to charge. I have looked at some independents in the Norwich area,and the price saving are in the order of £200 for a 3yr service. This independent has all the technical gear to connect to the OBD and rectify any faults. The only thing I wont get is any software updates.

I don't mind paying a bit more just to have the main dealer stamp in the book because its what people want to see on a car like this when they come to buy it!!!

Pay 9.60 for Topix for a day and it will tell you if there are any updates for the vehicle. Remember to put in the chasis number, not a generic FL2. If you do, it will show build date, warranty date, supplying dealers number AND if there are any software updates required etc.
