Removing N/S Bumper Reflector

Hi Guys,
Before i rip/ruin the bumper reflector is there a special technique in removing it?

I'm fitting a towbar this week (sometime) and need to get behind it to drill two holes to access some bolts Smile

Thanks in advance,

Chris

They have some metal clamps that engage in an unique and non-reversing way by pushing.
The clamps are mounted on the centre of the reflector by the means of some delicate plastic.
Once engaged, is very difficult to release them from the outside. You risk damaging the plastic that holds the clamps on the reflector.
The only non damaging way to take them out is from behind the bumper.
I know because I damaged them and now thay are fixed by the means of some nice, black, self tapping screws.
I quite like them now, because those screws give some rugged aspect.

Just fitted the Witter towbar on my MY10. My N/S reflector is removed by GENTLY prising it forwards at the top centre. You will then see a plastic sprung latch. Use a flat blade screwdriver to push it down and then pull forwards at the top. The botton is secured with 2 tabs into slots. Simple, but the key was the Witter installation video which showed the trick!

Thanks,
I'll be fitting my witter this week. Is there a link to the video?

I found the bar quite tricky to fit especially getting the bolts into the captive nuts each end due to the exhaust getting in the way. Trick was to leave all the bolts loose until the captive nuts were properly engaged and then tighten it all up. A second pair of hands also helps!
