Has anybody fitted any underbody protection to there F2?

We intend using ours for light offroading, and were wondering what to fit?

Any ideas please? 1998 300TDi Auto Disco, never to be forgotten.

Our Freelander came with a tow bar, so we will try it out on the Swift Challenger we bought last year.
Normally, we pull the van with a Zafira, it's the 120 HP 1.9 diesel. Unfortunately, at the 60 limit, it only has about 1650 revs on in 6th, so doesn't like this speed and hunts about even on level roads. This means it spends a good while in 5th when towing. The 150 HP version is probably better, but we were not thinking of buying a van when we bought the car. The revs at 60 are much the same in the F2, can any of the regular towers assure me that the 160 hp F2 copes better at the caravan limit? The Vauxhall is fine if you ease it up to max torque, about 2000 revs, but this gives nearly 70 mph, and my wife worries about stability of the van up there.

geoff c, hook it up go, you will be in 6th on the flat and some of the hills a quick drop to fifth to keep it at 60. Even the hills near you between 23 and 22 southbound will be achieved in 5th  p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

Thanks for that ad210358. I had hoped it would improve over the Vauxhall. Looking forward to getting the van out, for the first time this year. Just need to avoid chicken george territory!

Seriously though, the only grief you will be getting will be from the passenger saying "Don't forget your towing" seriously, get it at 60 and put the CC on and relax. I went from here up to CG's area a couple of years back and once on the M1 its 5th a 6th all the way  p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

At 60mph our auto is at roughly 1700rpm
Slapbag on maximum torque, stick her in cruise control and let the 160bhp take the strain.
Spends the majority of the time in 6th, if she drops to 5th, just let her get on with it, I learned a long time ago that the maximum fuel economy is not always the highest gear, but the most appropriate gear.

I've noticed that in Australia Landrover Offer a genuine accessory which is a stainless steel protection plate which mounts at the front. Looks very nice IMO but not sure that it is the sort of protection that the OP is after !!
