United Kingdom 2011 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Lago Grey

Follow-up if anyone's interested......

After much debate I went for the general grabber AT's. Fitted today in double quick time at AJS Tyres. Early indications are good;

Average Fuel consumption
Wrangler HP's on the way to AJS: 39mpg (10 miles A roads, 47 miles M25, average trip speed 59mph)
New Pattern Grabber AT on return journey: 39.5 mpg (same route, traffic conditions and average speed as above)

Road Handling/Noise
Slight drone using grabbers but nothing intrusive, handling - no discernable difference

Mud Performance
Grabber AT's clear better than Wrangler HP's and enabled me to make a more leisurely climb up our muddy field. Not perfect but much better. I guess mud tyres would be the ultimate solution but these are a good compromise.

Overall, happy with the tyres and with the service from the gents at AJS. Thanks to them and to everyone who contributed to this thread. Thumbs Up

Pics in my gallery (yes it is Lago Grey under the mud) Very Happy

Thanks for posting feedback blackthorn, did you manage to try them in any snow?

I'm about due a new set of A/T tyres so has anyone else been using the new grabber A/T?

Any more feedback on these, or any other 235/65/17 A/T would be very helpfull.

Welcome to the forum D99. Glad you found the thread useful. We haven't had any snow since I fitted the Grabber AT's but I remember reading somewhere on the D3/4 forum that they do work well in the snow.

I am pleased with the performance on wet roads (both grip and stopping distance fine) and in mud so I hope they will be OK in snow too. Time will tell.

Happy enough with my new style Grabber AT tyres in 235/65 17 - time will tell how they are for mileage. Got them from Camskill - found them to be cheapest around and delivered to the door next day for £10. I have bought from them before and learned not to bother if they show 'no-stock' on their website - better to give them a call so they can sort something out
