Hi, newbie here.

My wife has a 56 plate SE Td4 which is due my 4th service - being 4 years old but only 40K on the clock.

My local independant (no names but off the A4) tried to rip us off by quoting £410 Incl VAT and the local stealers have quoted £350 incl.

I've found another independant (on Hartcliffe Way) which has been bad mouthed by the 'other' independant but quoted me £200 incl (albeit for the 5th service, as my wife was initially misinformed by the 'other' indie).

Realistically what should the cost of the 4th service be?

Would it really hurt if we go this done by an non-LR/indie garage?? Not planning on selling it anytime soon as it's our second car and it only does the school run and to the shops and back (just like a real LR should!)

I would say that you should just look for a good recommended garage that can do the work on your car, possibly recommended by friends, etc

ps if there is not much difference in the cost, just use a LR dealer as at least you know they have the equipment and genuine parts.

Just had my 4th service done, about £350 inc vat and mot at main dealers.

Just had my 48 month service, 35000 miles, done by local garage experienced in 4x4 to LR schedule. Cost me £330 including VAT. I supplied the oil Castrol Magnatec 5/30. They replaced all filters (oil, air, fuel and pollen) because LR dealer previously had neglected to replace the air and fuel filters at 36 months, 30,000. LR dealer quoted £390 and agreed to include the extra filters they missed previously but I couldn't agree on further price drop if I provided the oil so I went to local independent. 2007 TD4 SE Manual

Just had it serviced by Landrover Service in Bedminster, Bristol. Total cost including parts and also replacing the rear pads was £360 incl VAT!

Pleased with work and service from them and would recommend.
