LED Daytime Running Lights

This weeks roadtest of the 2WD FL2 mentions that it comes with LED daytime running lights. There is a photo of the front of the FL2 but looks like it has xenons fitted - cant really make out any LED's. Anyone heard if they are being fitted (supposed to be mandatory now i think?)

I noticed that. It doesnt have to have them yet as it isn't a completely new model.

With how accurate Auto Express have been with their articles recently I wouldn't be surprised if they were wrong. Mine: 2012 Golf GTI Edition 35

They're not exactly renowned for their accuracy. I remember this very well when they used to print info about new/revised MG & Rover cars & much of the info was wrong. (Past) Freelander 2 HSE 2010 MY In Rimini Red.

They probably just have the sidelights coming on automatically and not the LED type like on the Range Rover inside the headlight unit. I was only wrong once and thats when I thought I was but wasnt.

I had heard that they were going to switch the side lights on permanent to act as daytime running lights, perhaps they are sticking LED bulbs in? Wouldnt be a bad idea?

I replaced my 2010 HSE halogen reflector headlights with Projectors, same as 2011 models. The sidelights are a complete waste of time and dont belong in a £34k vehicle,I replaced mine with LEDS which are are super day time running lights

How can they claim "no heat output" when they also state "resistor included so no errors"
Correct me if I`m wrong but if you put a resistor in the bulb to mimic the resistance of a filament bulb, it will produce just the same heat as that bulb would have done! 5 watts is 5 watts whether its from a bulb or a resistor. Don`t drive faster than your angel can fly!
