yes it often it is funny, but it is never "smutty or sexist!"

There is place for childish schoolboyish humour, i am sure that you can find a forum for your other outlets.

Can you please supply details of where all the posts can be vetted that meet your criteria of humour and when anyone is not following the thread properly ? I find it very easy to pass over or ignore annoying posts.Its probably not a good idea to lecture other members about how childish they are or to tell them to go somewhere else. After all some unkind soul might point out your turgid dull humourless posts would probably be best suited to a volvo forum... hopefully no one would ever be that rude or condescending.

there is a difference between fun and tacky - they really don't coincide in this thread.

but, still a little peeved at LR for dropping the SE in the US. It's crazy to me that your can now only buy the LR2 in HSE, but in the LR3 SE and HSE pkgs - btw, the HSE/LR3 comes standard with NAV - I don't think LR will make the nav standard to match packages, obviously.

What do you all think this will do to resale, with the dropping of SE trim?

Quite honestly, I had an VW dealer call for values on what they would give on the car - my LR2 has all the opt packages, plus running boards and LR's ipod integration. they offered 20-22k, 2 days later he sent a note, that he got another 4k out of a dealer. Sill poor in my book. He also said the dealers were offering 6k in incentive. I think that is a lie from the quoting dealer in values (not the VW dealer)

Anxious to see the true book value once KBB and the like are updated for 2008 models.

If you let me know what your "entertaining and fun volvo forum" is, I would gladly go and check see whether the forum has NEVER been "smutty or sexist" comments

drove the new c30 for a weekend, ehh ok

had a better time in the A3 2.0TDI the week prior....

You stated in your first post you had heard a rumour that the SE model was going to be scrapped you now seem to be stating this as fact.....is it true ?The LR USA website still shows purchase info well into 2008 for the SE and HSE models although the $1500 price difference between the two models does seems bizarre.... for another £700 you get the top model ! Why bother with the SE at all ??.

Please tell me you won`t swap the FL2 for an A3 ! now that would be tacky

They say that you can still see the SE online, because its still being sold. Once stock is clear or near clear (drinking a beer), then only the HSE will be avail to config online.

But, I've heard nothing official - and I'm sure I'll be the first that LR calls to inform me of my much lesser valued SE LOL

But, if I switch to anything it will, at this stage and game, the Audi Q7. Now that IS not a tacky ride.. no is the A6 Avant - that car really opened my eyes - blast to drive, tight as a button, and interior like no other. Loved the MMI interface they have. I'm not one for the all in one screen. (which is one reason I liked the LR2 nav, was its only a nav), but Audi nailed it.

Lrlr2, it seems strange that they would drop the SE, especially when the reviews say that the starting price of the LR2 is already expensive in the US compared to homegrown choices.

However, what they do in local markets is always a box of surprises I feel and seems only to make sense to them and nobody else.

All three off Martin's sites are great and full of people who understand humour. They are never offensive in any way IMHO. And if ever get so, Martin will get them deleted asap. Land Rover's, adventure and humour always stick together and that's what makes them stand up of the crowd! Humour and laughing is sometimes not very common in today's everyday life, so let's not get it out of our posts as well.

I really love to laugh too! However, though it's easy to spring to defend our rights to freedom of speech ( & humour), it's surely also important to listen to other views too.

In this case, it was the American author of the discussion string who politely expressed surprise at how the string had been highjacked into a very British style of humour & sexual inuendo. The forum is global, and asking people to respect differences (& different sensitivities) is surely not unreasonable.

Why not keep that style of humour on your own discussion strings, or those of people you know will be fine with it.  Life is not a dress rehearsal!
