Hi all, I have a 08 FL2 TDI, it occasionally indicates a red transmission warning symbol (toothed wheel with an exclamation mark inside). I've searched this forum and looked at the owners manual to find the meaning of this warning light. The manual says transmission warning see page 102 which tells me nothing!

Can anyone assist me with what might be wrong so that I can have a look or at least seem to know what I'm talking about when i take it to those people who don't know what to charge for doing nothing in the garage types

You seem to have a manual transmission from your profile.
Therefore, the warning symbol could only be for the Haldex system (active on-demand coupling).
Go to the dealer/garage and ask them to check the error memory.
