And when full these days is probably the most expensive tupperware in the world. Shocked For a free country, it does seem pretty expensive these days.

They do have advantages, some of which are said to be:
•Light weighted in order to save fuel;
•Cost-effective;
•Environment friendly;
•Biofuel compatibility; and
•Other benefits such as space optimization, safety, corrosion resistance, etc.

If my Series 3 had had one I wouldn't have had to clean the rust out of the fuel filter bowl every fortnight!

Almost all European cars have plastic tanks.

That's why experience day fl2s have metal sump and tank guards fitted! Still makes you wonder why the best 4x4xFar don't have proper underneath protection Freelander 2 TD4 Auto, SE, Narvik Black, Alpaca full leather, Rear Headrest Entertainment System, 6 CD, 18 HSE Wheels, Privicy tints

i used to use a military vehicle with a plastic fuel tank of 330lt, i beleve that most plastic tanks are double bagged just in case the outer skin is damaged Thumbs Up

vehicle tanks need to be double skinned if over 1000 litres. allsorts of regulations also come to play if over 1000, hence the max tank on large tractors is 999, or the manufacturers fit a second tank which isnt connected when new, but oddly the bit of pipe found in the tool box is a prefect fit Whistle At work
