Ok, I've heard a rumor that the SE trim was going to be dropped by LR. That the new HSE was the new 'standard' for 2009.

I find this hard to believe (us market I think), since the LR3 has both trim levels.

If that is the case, my SE will basically lose value faster, not to mention the new 3k incentive, which has cut my resale value (damn ford), I can guarantee I won't return to the LR family when it is time to replace my great driving LR2.

Thoughts?

Both trim levels (US)? ............ we have 6 models here for the FL2 (LR2) in the UK:-

S (no terrain response), GS, XS, SE, HSE!

It would seem odd to delete one of the two you have over there. But there again me thinks the LR2 is sooo cheap over there compared to here Maybe the lower spec models are irrelevant!  Life is not a dress rehearsal!

You forgot the sixth one the SEX model.... completely blacked out windows, mirrored ceiling, Red leather interior, auto dimming interior lights and of course fold flat front seats

Having seen a few other discusion string contributions from our US friends, I'm wondering if our SE is a tad more highly spec'd than theirs (e.g. Sat Nav, sunroof, telephone/bluetooth integration, elec folding mirrors)?!!  Life is not a dress rehearsal!

I would like the SEX model, as long as the red leather seats can be wiped over and the doors don't open when the wife wants to get in

yes, I'm failing to see the validity of 1450 usd for the use of HSE on the boot...

More LR's would be sold in the states if the UK packages were avail. But, the UK sees the car as all all round brand I think, as in the US, LR wants it to be a luxury brand thus only 2 packages, and less market share due to starting price of 36k for the LR2 and sum 50k for the LR3

And on top of the versions listed above there is now also a Premium version with a body coloured body kit and extra toys! How can carbon have a footprint, it has no feet?

Unless your driving around with a very very long extension lead, when you plug them in to a 12v socket, they are still battery powered.
