Current price of Diesel....Feb 3rd 2011

Hi, my local Total Garage today (West London) increased the price to £135.9 a litre, Petrol is £130.9, 5p difference is bigger than before.
Press reports say wholesale price recently reduced by 2p but this has not fed through to the price at the pump...
I do not believe in Oil company conspiracy and do not object to tax levels and the escalator.
Out of interest what are you paying for your diesel and what is your location....I have noticed that prices in Brighton are generally 3p cheaper than London and last filled up at Marlow, Bucks at £131.9 last Sunday!
Any logic to regional fuel prices?
Mant thanks all,

Switzerland - local Coop Supermarket pump price diesel last Wednesday was GBP£1.11p a litre on today's FX rates. Most expensive independent garage around here at the moment is GBP£1.15p p ltr. So her Ladyship refueled with 63ltrs and it cost me almost GBP£70.

She had done 847kms on that 63ltrs (63 / 4.546 = 13.86 imperial gallons) (847kms / 1.6 = 529.4 miles) (529.4mls / 13.86gals = 38.2miles per gallon)

Normally we pay more for our diesel than the UK, but since October 2009 the GBP£1 to CHF has slipped from 2.25 to only 1.60 hence we are now cheaper than the UK. Have no complaint, once the UK recovers and the £ strengthens the situation will reverse back to normal and we'll be paying more again.

We're the only country in Europe that rips you off for diesel, it's so much cheaper compared to petrol in France etc. Evil or Very Mad

And they never pass on reductions in oil price, in the same way they do increases Censored Mine: 2012 Golf GTI Edition 35

Who said that! the Island is 50 miles by 20 miles or thereabouts. You need a car to travel anywhere and if you go from Harris to Skye on the Ferry, it's 50 miles treck across the isle before you hit the Kyle of Lochalsh or alternatively go from Stornoway to Ullapool and then 60 miles to Inverness. Unless it's the Sabbath of course, in which case your only allowed to travel to Church - Not that I live there I hasten to add. Holidays only.
