Hi i had a problem with a seat and was also told that the approved used warranty would not pay for it, whats the point in having it if all they say is we wont pay for that. |

Had a new steering rack on my 07 manual SE. Apparently there was/is a problem with the weld on some early production steering racks which causes bits to come loose and block the power steering filter/reservoir. First stage is to replace filter/reservoir then the steering rack. Cost was quoted at £900 for the steering rack and labour but got my done free even though it was out of warranty by 3 months thanks to some good work by Marshall Bedford arguing my case with LR.

Cheers guys - snowy, I will be definitly doing as you said as I have checked the policy and no where can I see it exclude keys... In fact I have an e-mail to the selling dealer dating back to when it was under manufacturers warranty saying I thought the key was on its way out then.. I wonder if this is enough grounds to claim it was a pre existing fault?

everyone email your dealers telling them that , the brakes are dodgy, you think the cluch might be going, the steerings funny, and so on, every possible fault you can think of .
