2009 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Zermatt Silver
New Car...

The wife has told me that I've got to get rid of my beloved Audi Big Cry

It is costing a large fortune to keep......get another FL2 like mine
it's cheaper to run.....It's me or the car....

So tomorrow I'm having the day of work and I've booked test drives
in: a Freelander HSE SD4, a Audi Q5 V6 and the new BMW X3.

I did think of the D4 but it's just to big.

I will post back tomorrow evening what I think.

You can probably find another wife reasonably easy than pick another car! Hey, she did make the ultimatum, go to your local Morrisons and buy her a few black bin liners, that will give her a starter for 10. In fact, palm her off with the Audi as a settlement and keep the FL2 yourself - two birds, one stone. Thumbs Up

Being told that your beloved motor must go is surely a red card offence Laughing

Anyway, glad you might be moving to a vehicle made in the UK Thumbs Up . Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

There you go....

Personally, I like the one where the couple were divorcing and he asks her if she wants to go walking up Snowdon for a reconcilliation talk and then the lady ends up doing a swan dive off the top. You can just see it, 'Darling look at the view over the edge... I'll hold you, honestly...........Ooops, butterfingers!

I've been out all morning in a X3, very, very nice, but not for me.
It's to much like a jacked up 3 series, but as I say still very nice.

It would be interesting to see how good it is off road ????
I really do think it would be OK on a field but that's it and
the dealer was very pushy Question

Yes we have an RS6 Avent. It's expensive to insure, tax and run. It
all so attracts to much attention, you can't just park it anywhere.

So the BMW's of the list, we're of to the Audi & Land Rover dealer
this afternoon.

By the way I like billy's version best.....D.I.V.O.R.C.E. Thumbs Up

the new X3 does look very nice, a lot of people never go off road anyway, including me, but like a nice drive on road and good build quality.

I have driven the new X3 and pretty much agree with the comments above, it looks far better than the previous model, seems much better built and drives very well.

I felt it was too much like a tall 3 series touring, which for many will be a very fine thing indeed, but not really for me. 2011 SD4 HSE Ipanema Sand

I haven't driven the newest X3 but I can't get my head around the spending alot of money on a very compromised vehicle. It won't be as good as a 3 series touring in any department, with the possible exception of clearance on kerbs.

Can I have your RS6 please?! Very Happy Mine: 2012 Golf GTI Edition 35

Well what a day.

As posted earlier, the new X3 is very nice, but not for me.

The Audi, that was a big disappointment, the ride was not very
nice at all, but that 3lt V6 was very nice, the price of the vehicle
I was looking at...just over 44 grand....wow....just too much money
for that car.

The FL2 was on balance the best all round but land Rover need to up
there game on build qaulity, both the Audi & BMW are much better
in that department. The Freelander 2 is still king of is group, but only just.

So have I purchased one, no, much to my wife's disbelieve I'm going
back to my roots....I'm getting a Defender 110 XS.

Just need the chap that's having my Audi to part with his cash now.

Defender 110, excellent Thumbs Up

Aside from its off road abilities you have probably the best vehicle for defeating other cars on narrow side streets. I would love to see you cruise down a side street with Mr Richard Head in his saxo coming the other way Rolling with laughter

Not that you bought it just for that obviously.
