Ireland 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Nazca Sand
headlight hid conversion

Hi and thanks for taking the time to read my post.

I am looking to see if anybody has carried out the HID conversion to their freelander 2

I was given a set of Klaxcar HID's but they look like a nightamre to fit.

Any advise would be great. Thumbs Up

If you have the reflector type headlights, it will be beter to not do it as it will dazzle the incomming drivers.
The aftermarket hid bulbs are, in most cases, incompatible with reflector type headlights.
This because the reflector is specially designed and tuned to reflect the exactly delimited source of light of an halogen filament. The hid source of light isn't rigurously delimited as it is a discharged source of light.
Therefore the resulting output will be greatelly dispersed and will create glare.
Not to mention the fact that this kind of conversion is illegal in most european countries.

On a projector type headlamp is OK to switch from halogen to hid bulbs.

On the link above you will find some very well documented tests and reports.

But in the end, if you still want it, you can do it. It's your car, your will and your money...
