Need new tyres what would you recommend

Hi,
I need to renew my tyres, I have Continental Cross Contract 235/55 R19 's on my Freelander 2 at present. Would you suggest sticking with those or can anyone recommend a better tyre.

Thanks
Dale

For all rounder tyres the Goodyear wrangler all weather tyres are excellent. They came with mine from new. Vredestein wintrac 4 extreme are best if you want winter tyres but check out the AJS website who sponsor freel2.com. Thumbs Up LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

I asked for observations comments on the Pirelli Scorpion zero as fitted new to my car but did not get a response, so I too would appreciate comments please.

I also wondered why the Pirelli tyres were never mentioned , can anyone enlighten me ?

As u know there is not much choice in this size in the UK, Goodyear for example don't do them.

We had the Pirellis (scorpion zero) but gave them up at 16k with 3-4 mil left, they were ok generally but you could get them squealing easily in the dr, they were pretty average in the snow and the noise was high when worn (ok to about 5 mil)

Gone for contis now (and verdestien for winters) and they feel much more consistent although don't look as good. Not sure on the wear rate but look to be doing ok at the min.

A friend has some Toyo on his but there wearing faster than he is driving although dry grip appears to be good !

Hope that helps The missus - SD4 HSE - Black - 2012

I've got the Michelin's and they've done 26K and should see way beyond 30k.
Although a pure road tyre, i've had no problems this winter and they are very quiet. As with all Mich tyres, they are very hard wearing but i can get the Goodyears much cheaper. Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

I haven't replaced the tyres just yet, I have probably another months wear left, but doing my own research I will go for either the Continental Cross Contact UHP at £197.50 each which are on the vehicle now or Michelin Latitude Diamaris 105V XL at £190.57 each. These prices are on Formula One Autocentres website. I think my preference will be the Michelin as previously said they are a good hard wearing tyre, and according to the Michelin website they give low road noise and improve fuel economy.

see reviews http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/

The Mitch are cheap at Costco at the min but dont get good reviews. I couldn't get goodyear when i was looking but lots on here rate them.

I would go conti or goodyear IMO although they both get mixed reviews. The missus - SD4 HSE - Black - 2012

I have done 96000Km (60000miles) and I had the Pirelli 235/60R18 scorpion zero as factory fit, then I replace them with contis UHP and recently with wrangler HP all weather.
Pirellis were good on and acceptable off road including snow, but they wear out very fast.
Contis UHP were exceptional on road, adequate off road on firm terrain, but unacceptable on mud and snow. They offered very good stopping distances and higher fuel consumption.
Wranglers are more balanced on and off road, they offer better fuel consumption and more grip on mud and snow. They are less precise on the motorway speed.
