Use your fobs!!

I've just remembered another tip the guy at my LRE told me ......

Make sure you use both your key fobs supplied with the vehicle. It appears that as well as making sure the battery in each remains charged, it also ensures that both fobs will continue to work!

According to him, the car changes the code settings on the fobs every few months (3 I think). It gives you a some lee-way to still use the old code (on the other fob), but will eventually reject it. He said many dealers fail to mention this (mine certainly didn't).

So there you have it. Anyone else heard this before? I don't recall reading it in the manual.
Life is not a dress rehearsal!

Certainly the RRS doesn't do this as I leave mine unused for up to 4 months when I am overseas working, and I haven't (so far) had any problems in near 30 months of ownership How can carbon have a footprint, it has no feet?

This is something they also say for Audi's, but in the 5 years I've had mine I've never had any issues, swapping the remotes over after a year or so.

My dealer told me to change fobs for recharging purposes never said anything about changing codes etc doesn`t sound very likely it would be an added problem/complication and would end up causing the customers more aggro Confused .....will ask next time the cars in .
