Couldn’t see any wires so must be CGI

I thought it was out of control for a couple of seconds and thought he was really really lucky not to smash into the ground

That is so hard to do, well without crashing it is

I bought one of those small RC helicopters and naively thought it would be easier to use indoors Might as well have been a RC Tasmanian Devil. I was not popular.  For a free country, it does seem pretty expensive these days.

Must admit, I thought the same for the first few seconds, agree wouldn’t want to fly one indoors

Outside it broke the fence, cracked a greenhouse and at one point had me asking a neighbour if I could have my helicopter back, off his TV aerial. Again, not popular.

It's currently in several pieces in the loft where it will stay until I've forgotten why I stopped trying to fly it..........at which point my popularity will once again, like the helicopter, take a nose dive.  For a free country, it does seem pretty expensive these days.

My son got a chinook for Christmas one of those that are about 6"

Seen a couple of vids from this guy - he's awsome, its just defying what he can do with one of these helicopters Freelander 2 TD4 Auto, SE, Narvik Black, Alpaca full leather, Rear Headrest Entertainment System, 6 CD, 18 HSE Wheels, Privicy tints

What I can't work out is how it can fly upside down

If it's blades are rotating and giving lift, for it to flip upside down, that lift is then pulling it to the floor, unless it's the blades that can change pitch or something in a split second Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Electric or i/c engined ones have come on massively in the last decade and can perform 3D stunts that the full size real thing can only dream of. Flying upside down and hovering (upside down) being the most obvious.

The other aspect is all the digital electronics in the control's & radios. Minimum is 4ch for a fixed pitch rotor 5 ch for variable pitch. They also incorporate adjustable electronic gyro's in the models for stability. The transmitters are programmable for so many things it's untrue.......It's a play station generation.

I think before you ever attempt to fly upside down you need to be very capable at flying the right way up. You can only fly up side down if your heli has variable pitch rota system. Its the variable pitch that gives lift.
On your computer radio there will be a number of different toggle switches that can be programmed for different operations ie lifting and lowering landing gear etc.
When your heli is set up properly you take her up to a suitable height, start to roll the heli then flick what ever switch you have programmed to give the heli negative pitch. while your in inverted flight the rota's are now pulling air in the opposite direction from the skids to the rota head in stead of from the rota head to the skids as in normal none inverted flight.
All so to stop the glow fuel engine from suffering fuel starvation there is a weighted fuel pick up in the tank so what ever position the heli is its always got a supply of fuel, well at least untill you run out, mine had a five minute run time
