iPod Integration

Hi everyone

After successfully running power to my GPS from the fuse box, I am looking for an easy way to achieve ipod integration. I believe the ipod connectivity cable requires a lot of work to install - are there any other ways (other than FM transmitters because in my experience they just don't work…)

Thanks in advance.

You could use a Kensington LiquidAux. It works well for me and I have considered fitting a power socket in the glove box for it, then just running an audio extension to the aux input.

The only real issue is that it is obviously independent of the car and you have to remember to pause it manually, but that said, I had a full integration kit on my last car, non LR, and it was clunky at best.

You can pick up a LiquidAux from Amazon in the UK for just over a tenner which I think is excellent value, however, I don't know of suppliers and costs your side of the world. For a free country, it does seem pretty expensive these days.

Have you considered the Dension ice-link FM unit. The output from the ipod holder has car radio antenna adaptor which injects the ipod signal into the car radio. You simply tune the radio to a FM frequency (mine 88.6). Perfect reception and sound level controls on the steering wheel work. EU legal. FM transmitters as you say dont work well and are not road legal

You can place the ipod holder at a convenient place from which to operate the ipod.

I had one for four years fitted to my X3 but took out before getting the FL2.
