Got Xenons with my winter pack option - they are great and glad I got them with the feed back on the projectors fitted to MY11 cars.

Recently these seem to shine much lower - sometimes not far enough.
Recently also had towing electrics for my trailer (steady on CG) would this affect it?

Question is if the lights have auto leveling - how is this controlled and can it be adjusted? If the car has a trailer on the back will it automatically lower th lights to compensate? There's always a way forward!

Cheers - thought it would be something scientific.

If I stop on a steep hill what will be the net result? - will the headlights lower or go higher automatically depending on whether I face up or down the hill?? or is it that the change will be relative between the two height sensors? There's always a way forward!

The later one, relative between the two height sensors, in other words, relative to the road incline.
The "parallelism" with the road is in question here in order to not dazzle the incoming drivers, not the relative position with Earth's horizon.
Imagine you are on a top of a hill facing down the hill. If it will adjust the lights relative with Earth horizon, then you will see all the drivers on the valley up to the next town on the next hill, right? And they will see you too and swear a lot...

Thats a pity - the horizon would be beneficial sometimes

Next Question - If a bulb blows (is this possible) where do I get a new one?

Is it covered by Warranty and if not how long can I expect them to last.

I believe the xenon lamps are covered on warranty, as they are supposed to be able to do 20,000 hours or something, I am sure I read it on here or RRSport Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I had terrible problems with xenons on my M3. Obviously you can't extrapolate from one maker to another, but I'll pass on my experiences anyway...

It wasn't just the bulbs blowing, it was the starters and controllers (separate parts, several hundred pounds each to replace!) that seemed to be a problem. If a bulb does let go, there's no way to easily get in and change them the way that you can with a conventional lighting setup.

I like the way they work on the road, but I'm never having them again if I can help it. Sooner pay a tenner for a new bulb that I can fix myself than pay hundreds to take the car to a dealer to sort it out.

Mine has xenons and no problems after 33 tsd km's. I am never having any car without them again. They work brilliantly. 2010 Freelander 2 Select TD4 auto....gone
