Recalls

Hello all,

I thought I would just share this. I am new posting but joined October last year and been reading the threads and the dealers do seem to get a bad press. When I bought my FL2 it wasn't from a dealer so I phoned LR up to see if there were any recalls on the vehicle. LR told me that there were 3 recalls and two had been done. Booked the car (just out of warranty) into Farnell Leeds Central at 9AM and the job (battery seal) was done in 1/2 an hour.

Thought the service from both LR and dealer great.

Love the car. FL2 SE 07 but only 20K on the clock and like new. Drives great.

One other thing (if anyone gets this far down the post) according to the service records my FL2 did have side steps on at onetime but had them taken off so would ths make it quite easy to fit some new ones?

Cheers freetwothink

I believe the difficult bit is setting the rivnuts into the chassis rail. They would not have been removed when taking the side steps off.
Another check would be to view the Plastic Sill Protector. Look at these carefully (open doors and you'll it) as it would have 'slits' cut out of it to accommodate the brackets. I doubt these would have been replaced with new ones
Best of luck

Recall

Hello Lmorris4975,

Wthin the paperwork I received when I bought the car was a recall letter from LR regarding the PTC Heater. I wasn't sure if the previous owner had responded so I rang the number on the letter, which happened to be the head off 01926 641 111. They told me it had been done and that there was another that had been done and one outstanding. Simple as that.

Booked into dealer and done free of charge that week.

Hope that helps. freetwothink

Side Steps

Hello Maffs,

thanks for the reply, appreciated.

I have looked at the car and you are right. Reading the posts is seems that the hardest thing regarding fitting the side steps is the rivnut, as these will still most likely still be there and the cut outs have been done, it should be a doddle. I think I'll look for some sidesteps.

Cheers freetwothink
