YOU IS at a guess but EV I got the whole "rattle out of the pram" thing the other night and now you have curbed the "headrest and wheel and valet and weblink car boot sale" thing and curbed the award winning "moaning about FL2's in relation to FL1's & MPG & Boring looks & bland car & ford parts bin thing" along with the fact that everyone’s more sensitive to your sensitivity I was expecting a calmer valeter.

PLUS

I even suggested your car in the current light of PC for the vote that you won?

Executive Valeter - Winner: Head turning award. Thumbs Up

How good it that? Whistle

Guys, need your help with regards this topic, what modifications will effect the warranty, is there any easy way of summarising it, will putting larger wheels on effect warranty, does fitting rear spoilers effect it, are dealers that strict and stupid??
Any other examples to stay clear of please let me know, or any stupid ones you've heard of.

Look forward to your replies Lago Grey 2.2 s td4..e

I started the thread regarding somebody coming in to trouble regarding a remap to the engine

but you also need to think about things like wheels larger than OEM (LR max is 19") are a possible NO due to the car not been designed for it

adding things where you have to cut wires like some of the after-market Xenon HID sets

adding OEM part to the car shouldn't be a problem as long as you follow LR fitment guides, but if you add a spoiler and it falls off i doubt LR would be very helpful Thumbs Up Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

This post refers to PERFORMANCE Modifications, I.e Chip tuning-Changing the computer program that governs the amont of Horsepower & Torque produced from the engine, gearbox and turbo charger.

If you are considering fitting any cosmetic extras that are Landrover made/approved this will not effect your warranty but may effect your Motor insurance.

Thanks for your quick replies, Very Happy forgot to ask, where do we stand with having a towbar fitted with electrics and re coded by someone other than LR, would they be funny about that? Lago Grey 2.2 s td4..e

Here in the USA we have a law that protects us against dealers refusing to honor warranties when we make aftermarket mods. They have to prove that the modification you made, caused the problem they're servicing.

[quote="npinks"]IIRC somebody has had rear parking sensor problems and they have blamed the aftermarket towbar electrics

That was me and I am still having problems.
At service 3 I mentioned it again to be told on collecting the car "No faults showing on the computer" but no mention of the non dealer fitting of the tow bar.

Am going to go down the Waxoyl route when the weather improves.

It's called the MAGNUSSON-MOSS ACT. If your vehicle is still under warranty and you put a high performance chip in your vehicle and later down the road develop brake problems, the dealer still has to repair the brakes. He can't say no because you violated the warranty.
