United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Stornoway Grey

I am not sure who made the reccommend to zero mpg and start again, who ever it was thank you.
My average was 32.4, today I zero and on a 50 mile round trip today my average is 36.5.
Now my problem, is this reliable and why should it make this difference when starting from zero?
If it is correct I am over the moon Very Happy David

When starting from zero you are get the MPG for that particular trip.

If you leave it all the time your averaging out the total MPG, which means the quick trips to get the paper on the cold morning will wreak havoc on the MPG

I feel the only way to ascertain accurate fuel consumption is brim to brim. ( although the computer in the vehicle is fairly accurate.)

we just back from hols in France, and solo MPG over 1372 miles was 41.1 , and towing a 1800 kg single axle caravan over 2028 miles gave an average of 26.8. All fuel purchased was from supermarkets

Vehicle is FL 2 HSE diesel manual which has run perfectly without problem since we bought it in April this year, with 9500 miles on the clock now.

Would I have another ? Without doubt !

Would I go back to D3 with fuel prices going through the roof ? No chance !
