Instant Mobility System

Just searching on LR used seeing what's about

Came across a FL2 HSE with Instant Mobility System

What's this I wonder, Confused Keyless entry?, remote starting? Disability controls?, a chauffeur?

so i Google it and it's a puncture repair kit Laughing

Better than saying for £30k+ your haven't got a spare wheel Laughing Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Why does there always have to be hugely complicated ways of describing something which can be summed up in one or two words?

For example: Waste disposal operative = Dustbin men

or

Independent Financial Advisor = Thief Laughing LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

"Farmergeddon" has already begun in Lincolnshire:

Nocton 8.100 unit diary factory farm being re-submiited for approval.
South Witham 3,000 unit diary factory farm application refused on first application. Velmur Ltd will reapply.

The UK's first million chicken broiler unit is already being hatched by Indian specialists who've recently transgressed into football club ownership.

And of course, the workers for these rural factories will need to be housed - in cheap nasty accommodation - crumbling mobile homes and converted old rusty sea containers. One tank will not be enough CG.

When we were on the LR experience the instructor put it like this, " you use to get a spare wheel, now you get a can of foam"

I do find this sort of obvious customer fleecing annoying. I have a can-o-gunge in the MX-5 which I can understand as space is limited and it would be near impossible to fit even a space saver in the boot, plus it would screw with the weight distribution. But the thought of not having some sort of spare in anything that even hints at off road seems ridiculous. For a free country, it does seem pretty expensive these days.

Of course the answer is in our hands. If we all refused to buy a car unless it was fitted with a proper spare wheel then cars would be fitted with spare wheels. I remember a Mondeo I used to have which had a space saver wheel that had a polystyrene pack under it to bring it up to the height of a normal wheel. What happens when you have a repair kit and pump when you have a tyre that has had a blow out? Remember there are never problems, just new challenges

Or spend an extra £150 (or thereabouts) and buy a full sized spare with matching alloy wheel.

I agree it's a bit rich only giving you a can of tyre sealant in an off-road vehicle costing as much as an FL2.

My first one had a full sized tyre on a steel wheel, second one I opted for the full sized spare with alloy - well worth it for peace of mind having had a blow out in my old Discovery.

I agree its barmy not to give you a full size spare on a 4x4 but given that a lot of people dont use them as 4x4's then i suspect that its down to customer demand and the fact that not many people actually put the spare on anymore!!!

one of the reasons bmw use run flats is that they claim it is safer and preferable for the comfort of their drivers; if you can afford to have a bmw why would you want to risk your life on the road changing a wheel and getting dirty when you can keep driving for upto 200 miles and then just pay nearly 200 quid for a new one!

I'm not sure about the can of foam in a landy though - does it even have enough gas to fill it up??? Freelander 2 TD4 Auto, SE, Narvik Black, Alpaca full leather, Rear Headrest Entertainment System, 6 CD, 18 HSE Wheels, Privicy tints

I suspect it is down to CO2 as much as cost..if you can shed weight the CO2 output will be lower.

Still gets on my nerves though...will keep my full size spare and swap it with the can of shaving foam when I buy my next FL
