Pioneer used to be a good brand years ago, but went downhill.

Personally, the old Sharp Aquos LCD TV was an iconic piece of art. I've still got one, cost me 1400 quid for a 22" widescreen, analogue only, lovely looking even by todays standards.

Take a look at this from LG. Its the very latest with next to no boarder around the edges of the tv. Plus it is LED so very thin, and it's 3D ready.

If you compare to all others on the Market the bezel around the edges is by far the thinnest and it has a single sheet of what looks like glass across the entire front edge to edge meaning no dust collection and great for kids fingermark cleaning.
Sony will be bringing out their version in a few months called 'monolith' which is basically the same concept with thin bezel. This is the way all tv's will go this year.
LG just stole the march.

Very nice but doubt that's less than £400. For picture quality, you can't beat a good plasma but they are bulky in comparison to an LCD/LED although they did fall out of fashion for a while and can be had for very good prices. Pioneer Kuro were top notch. Personally I bought the sexiest looking one at the time...Samsung series 8 Laughing Phil

I dont get the thinner the better thing on the latest TV's

Sat here watching my 42" Panasonic plasma, placed in the corner of my lounge on it's glass black panasonic stand and I can't tell how bulky it is or isn't

Whether the TV is 1" thick or 3" it doesn't make a difference to my viewing pleasure Wink Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

You've got it all wrong, you tilt it so any visitors coming into the room will see it's very thin, then it starts a conversation where you can take the moral high ground and make them feel crappy about life in general. Rolling Eyes

Then you tell them how much you're saving from it's green credentials compared to plasma.

I have a Fujitsu plasma and it's great, but it also acts as another radiator in the room.

The worlds biggest plasma tv is currently made by Panasonic. A mere 150".

Could be an excellent purchase. Perhaps to be used as a small portable tv for the spare room Laughing LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby
