Like you say mate, the car is the same, just the toys that make the experience different. Buying new, though, you get all the warranty advantages etc. I don't think anyone could really advise you, after all it's your decision as to the spec you fancy. Any freelander is a bloody good car. I'm in the other camp having just bought a Landrover Approved Used <3 yr old SE with options... I guess it depends on what you want, if you don't care much for leather, arm rests, sun roofs and sat navs then I would say the new GS - although I'm interested where you can get a new GS for the same money as a 3 yr old HSE... I think your probably closer to a nearly new XS - at least then you will still get at least 2years warrantee with the option to extend also you wont take such a big hit on depreciation as this usually happens the minute you drive it out of the showroom! Freelander 2 TD4 Auto, SE, Narvik Black, Alpaca full leather, Rear Headrest Entertainment System, 6 CD, 18 HSE Wheels, Privicy tints |

I'm pretty sure he means a newer/younger GS and not brand new. If you buy approved you get warranty anyway so I would have no problem choosing the HSE. Phil |

your £20k might get you very close to a brand new 'S' MY2011 model, with the Terrain Responce system now included it makes it a even greater entry level at £21695 Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis |

I'd go HSE every time, according to my dealer the HSE is the model most people want and has the best residuals. (Their words, not mine).
