Washing the deluxe carpet mats?

Any recommendations on washing or cleaning the LR mats?
I just scrubbed with a sponge and washing suds, then hosed down. Not sure all the suds are out and they are obviously soaked and heavy, and look like they'll take a weeknto dry.

Assuming the LR mats are no different to normal carpet mats, I'd use some all-purpose-cleaner, a stiff brush, and a warm shower (as with washing anything warm water works better).

Drying, airing cupboard, hairdryer, anywhere warm basically.

Maybe place each mat in your washing machine on spin cycle to spin the water out, if they fit

or a wet/dry vacuum to suck water out Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

We used to just pour car suds on them then steam clean at BMW.

Then again...the sprayed the black trim in the footwell with black paint when prepping a used car... Mine: 2012 Golf GTI Edition 35

And a tin of bodge and cardboard on the wing! coathanger for an ariel, attached a drill in reverse to the odometer or better still, put it on a rolling road.

Seriously, I wouldn't have soaked them, they might loose their shape. If the mats are the ridged ones with the LR metal plate, I'd bung them in the tumble dryer on a delicates or if I had to, let them dry near a radiator.

Personally, I'd had let the muck dry, brushed off the surplus, then taken the wash Vax to them.

There was a brand new M3, back in 2008 when the new model was just arriving, this was on eof the first ones, arrived on the transporter with a huge gash in the wing...white car, black scrape. I'd have changed the bumper, but oh no...quick smart repair...

Use a preparatory "dry" foam spray carpet cleaner. Spray on and leave to dry - then vacuum off.

Using soap and water runs the risk of colour loss and shrinkage. And, using a washing machine is likely to exacerbate the application of soaps and water.

To be honest I have two sets of carpet mats, one set of the velour type and one set the cord type. When I need to clean them I take them out and wash them using a jet wash, then just hang up to dry. Both types come up realy clean after a jet wash.

After two years of ownership the carpet type mats only go in when I am on holiday, for work and main day to day running I stick with the LR rubber mats.

What is a pain is the state the carpt gets to the left of the clutch pedal, I can never get that really clean, even using my Vax spot washer.

1: This area (foot rest location) to the left of the clutch pedal receives additional protection via a LR tailored leather trimmed carpet mat of the "Newport" model which has a segment that runs like a peninsular off the main body of the driver's foot-well mat where the driver rests her/his left foot. These bespoke leather trimmed mats provide protection for the standard LR carpet floor covering and are only used outside of our winter season Nov>April inclusive.

2: In winter her Ladyship's FL2 Newport has the LR rubbers mats installed to protect the standard LR floor carpet. To my dismay, these rubber mats offer no extra protection underneath the driver's left foot when "at rest" just in the very season when you need it most. I find (her Ladyship performs no FL2 decontamination tasks) that a dry foam carpet cleaning spray works very well in ensuring respectability in these areas.
