Freelander value

Hi there

I've got a Freelander 2 that I'm looking to sell and would like to get an idea on what price to advertise it for:

June 2007 GS TD4 Auto in metallic grey. It's a one owner car with FLRSH from the supplying dealer at 15k, 31k, 45k, 61k (new discs and pads fitted) and now at 72k miles with a service due at 75k/June 2011.

Very good condition, taxed and MOT'd until June 2011, original paintwork with a few minor blemishes.

Suggestions welcome!

You could always get a Glasses Guide valuation... they are only £3.50 IIRC and then you know the "book" figure.

That can then serve a base for your research. Look for similar cars on autotrader for private sales and the LR site for cars from dealers. That should give you a very good idea of the current value for private sale and trade in. Doesn't mean you will get it though!

Value you car

Hi mate try this from vauxhall its Glasses guide and free.

Be aware that the values you get may be under what its actually worth as prices are high at the moment due to the adverse weather.

big intake of breath " er well its one of those grey freelanders, common a muck they are, so I can only offer you 9 for it, its the trade you see, I cant sell it on the forecourt here, if it had been black mind you, but no its grey, sorry. Tell you what Ill give you 9100 and free mats on your new car * "

* Mats subject to availability, may not be the correct size/colour. new mats are sourced if available but in most cases old mats may be used. Management reserves the right to alter the figure to £8800 when you arrive to collect the new car without reasonable excuse. At work

with used stock been low, a dealer might suprise* you with there offer Question

But it might be a little old for them to cash buy, when they would have to place it through the approved used check which costs ££££

It will be too 'leggy' (as per NPinks Avatar) for a main dealer, but a 4x4 specialist would probably be interested.

I'd guess they would be looking to pay £11,500 ish, but you could advertise yourself at £12,995 with a view to taking a little over £12,500.

This isn't an offer, just a bit of advice!

Which they WILL knock down when you take it to one of their centers, regardless of how truthfull you are on the quote system. The theory is that it's a good enought price to get you there and once there, you're more likely to accept a few hundred quid less because you can't be arsed anymore. It is a good indication to base figures around though.

Heard that, but as you say, not a bad guide.

Couldn't help with a valuation but this might be possible food for thought. I was looking at FL2's on Autotrader on the 2nd December, was bored because I was snowed in. (I remember the date because it was my birthday!) That day there were 322 cars available nationally. That figure has come down and down in the last few weeks and if you do the same search today there are only 26 available!

Interesting.

But remember... just because they are no longer in Autotrader it doesn't mean they have actually been sold!

But it does mean less cars around and hence the values will hold up.

Definitely agree they haven't all been sold. Bet a significant proportion have been taken off the market and used by the dealers to get to and from work!

Was talking to the structural engineer we use on our house this morning. Of couse, he wants one too. Wherever the demand is coming from, it's a seriously sought after car right now.
