England 2013 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Lux Auto Santorini Black

I asked about these while I was having my xenons sorted. Nobody had a clue what they were called and it took some time to find a name and price them up.

Turns out they are splash guards "I'll bet everyone calls them something different so not convinced yet" and are primarily for the reasons mentioned above by Alex "to stop water being splashed up onto the windscreen" although they may serve a purpose for extra MPG. Quoted price was £47 EACH plus 20% which seems a bit high to me, can anyone confirm the price?

I didn't see these at the dealer, nor did I see them within the accessory catalog? Does anyone have a parts number, or web link for them?

I can confirm they do exactly as it says on the tin.

My old FL2 would chuck water all over the bonnet and windscreen if you drove though road side water.
On the new FL2 hardly a splash - maybe I'm not going fast enough Twisted Evil

As for mpg its difficult to say. The engine is a COMPLETLEY different animal to the old one - quieter, quicker to rev and after only 600 miles returned 43 mpg with trailer andf large roof box on. Already seems more frugal than the last. Whether this is down to the splash guards I doubt!!! There's always a way forward!

I'll ring my dealer tomorrow as I found the part numbers I'm sure he quote about £10 when I first asked.

Thats not bad. I'll take a note for when I get my 2011MY bumper.

A black one with sensors, fogs, headlight washers for 95 quid.

Cheers npinks

Looks like they put a zero in the wrong place when they quoted me verbally last week, or they picked the wrong part.

I'll call them later and try again. Thumbs Up

I paid the same as npinks, £4.47 & £5.12 +vat. Like I said previously if I hadn't fitted spire clips to the new screws, I would have had them on in 20 minutes, really simple to fit in 5 easy steps;

1-cut off raised locating 'pimple' on each spoiler with sharp craft knife
2-remove 2x existing bumper screws (for each side)
3-place bib spoiler in place & replace 2x existing screws
4-drill through 3rd hole in spoiler into bumper with 3mm drill bit
5-screw in new self tapping screw

Can't say I've noticed any difference in MPG yet, but I did hit a big puddle & it didn't seem to splash as much onto the windscreen. Poke it, Poke it, make it do it again!!
