beware of reduced ground clearance - I 'dropped' off a large boulder (though it was grass) and clobbered the front side step mount - ended up ripping the captive nut out and bending the inner sill ! I now have one side step .... I actually blame the garage that fitted them actualy 'cos the mounts were extremely loose when I inspected the damage. To fit them you have to cut the plastic sill moulding. The mouldings are arked with where to cut but, beware damaging the plastic clips - they're a sod to replace without the right tool. 2008 Freelander2 GS TD4

no the one in that link ARE genuine and i am saying they are by far the best option, downside being they don't come cheap

The ones in my post above are about half price, I doubt if you will get original LR steps cheaper anywhere . They are about £500 elsewhere |

be aware that the steps can hold a lot of mud and dirty your trousers as you get in/out. Not anti steps per se, I quite like them but chose tubes instead. At work |

Thanks CG, I am still trying to make my mind up on whether to get them or not. Any off road I am likely to do is the odd farmers field to go fishing or the odd track to do some filming.
