I fitted a Brink detachable, its what Landrover fit. I used a dedicated electrics plug in kit, the trailer light on the dash works, I turn the reversing parking sensors off with the switch on the dash, no re-programing required.

Any chance of a picture? Cutting the bumper sounds drastic but I suppose I'm not ever going to remove the towbar. Freelander 2 SD4 HSE - Ipanema Sand - MD co-pilot - Springer Spaniel in boot - Swift Challenger on the back! |

I will take a picture at the weekend in daylight, I am at work this week its dark when I go & get home, I don't go in the Freelander, the wife has it. What if there were no hypothetical situations? |

Fair play thats a neat job! I managed to get the local Stealer to quote/estimate £53 to plug in the FL2 if i get a towbar fitted from a local garage Results i think as they did want £100 |

Very useful, thanks. Just placing my own order with Towbar Express. Wasn't sure about the bumper cut but it looks fine - and as discrete as it can be. http://www.towbarexpress.co.uk/dedicated_wiring.html Does your van tow level on this towbar? I have not tried towing with it yet and don't have a van or trailer at the moment, its fine with a bike rack I cut the bumper hole slightly smaller than the supplied template. What if there were no hypothetical situations? |
