Where is the FL2 manufactured

I have just started looking at FL2's here in Brissy Australia. I wouldnt have thought to ask a question like this but I am in the process of selling an E46 Beamer and a guy who was recently looking at it asked me if it had been manufactured in Germany or Singapore (I think) - apparently they had two different plants and the quality of the build was determined by the above.

Just wanting to know if I should be asking the same question when I am inspecting 07-09 FL2's?

Cheers

It is built in the UK from parts manufactured in the UK, Europe and Asia.

If you ask Land Rover I'm sure they will give you an actual percentage breakdown of where the components are manufactured.

According to wikipedia, your guy was wrong, as E46 Beamers are assembled in one of the following locations. Not in Singapore plant.

Leipzig, Germany
Munich, Germany
Regensburg, Germany
Rosslyn, South Africa
6th of October City, Egypt
Kaliningrad, Russia
Shenyang, China 2010 Freelander 2 Select TD4 auto....gone
2011 Freelander 2 TD4 auto ...current

07-09 Freelanders all built at Halewood in Merseyside UK

The production line was designed to build the FL2 and Jaguar X type.
X type was discontiued so the plant now concentrates on FL2.

When I was a lot younger the factory was a Ford plant manufacturing Escorts. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
Replaced by Ewok what a mistake - now a happy Disco Sport owner

Singapore? If you were to have a car plant in Singapore we wouldn't have any more space left for a country! Speaking as a Singaporean here... lol... Laughing

Thanks guys, yeah I said I think after the Singapore comment because I wasn't sure if that was the second place he mentioned. But good news about the UK plant.

Also any comments re the 2007/08 vs the 2009/10? From what I have researched there were some minor upgrades but here the price difference is also about $10000 between the 07 & 09 models! Is it worth paying the extra?
