Just booked in my FL2 at the local indi. L.R. Garage for 1st week of New Year, Something has to done about it!

Bye the way the local indi, Garage charges £38 p/h + VAT Labour in comparison the Local Franchised LR Dealer - £75 per hour - be warned!! Shocked Incidentally they phoned the local LR Franchise re the glow plugs and got told "we don't keep them - nobody has ever asked for them" - not untill the bloody weather necessitates the use of them!!

If they can't sort it in the new year the as AndyC says - it will have to be aan ugly Korean for me!!

Best Wishes From Jackrabbit

PS Lets hope Santa brings all us early FR2 owners a can of "Easy Start" this year - or some jump leads!! Rolling with laughter

I'd pack in driving and get a push bike if it came to that. Sad

I've found that starting this year has been better since I started using 2T. Also runs smoother. Temps as low as -13C and rarely above -5C during the warmest (lol) part of the day. Coming up for 4 years old and 50k mls.

Hi all, as per early post i've been having the same problem. My cars still under 3rd party warranty and i booked it into a local LR specialist who admitted they had never done one before so it would be a suck it and see. They quoted £150 plus vat all in.

The warranty people agreed so i thought nothing to loose may as well get them changed.

It was a much bigger job than they expected but they honoured the price Shocked

We have had weather of -14 since and no starting problems Thumbs Up the garage did say they only found 1 of the glow plugs to be faulty. I still don't get the delay warning before cranking but when cold we use the 2 stage starting.

We used adventure 4x4 in leeds if anyone want's to ring and see what they would quote now they done one, at least it would give you an idea.

Happy Christmas everyone, hope the cars start! Thumbs Up

To change the glow plugs with new ones.

I was, outraged and refused to do this job.
I think that this way can not, be true !
I think that replacing the glow plugs are much easier.
Friends!

All of your opinions.
Thank you. I'm sorry.

Same problem as others, anything less than -5 and it just cranks and cranks. Touchwood battery good and has always started but it doesn't inspire confidence at all. Heater don several times on one occasion by simply turning on and off then dipping clutch to attempt start. It's going to have to go in I reckon. Anyone recommend a LR specialist in Leeds area? None main dealer, I cant afford their prices now its out of warranty.

Cheers Also available in Clean.

Sweden 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 S Manual Narvik Black

Hi
This has been a major problem this year in Sweden. My Freelander 2, 2007 had the same problem and the Land Rover dealer said it has been many cars in for repair the last weeks. allways the same problem the Glow Plugs are broken.
I had three out of four broken in my car and they also said it was many of 2007 years model and that more and less all plugs in the mainstore in Denmark was sold out.
So ask the service center to contact Land Rover Sweden for tips on this problem before they start a long search for the problem.

Per
