Been lurking for a while and have now got my Freelander 2 Which is a HSE with HST bodykit and am loving it.

One niggly question regarding the front and rear parking sensors.

When I select reverse the system beeps, mirrors dip and sensors work perfectly, however when I take the car out of reverse the beeping continues even if stationary out of gear. Only stops if I press the deactivate button on console.

Same happens with front ones if I park close up they beep and work perfectly, but if i select neutral they continue to beep (unless i move away from wall) unless i press switch again to turn them off.

Is this normal or a fault?

Am used to the jaguar I had previously which turned sensors off when you took car out of reverse gear. This would be annying if someone stops close to you in traffic jam?

Sounds normal to me

Mine does exactly the same, keeps front sensors on for manoeuvring and turns off when over a few miles an hour going forward Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

And the rear ones remain on when not in reverse gear also but close to a object?

Nope, should turn off as soon as you take it out of reverse gear  ______________________

No, mines the same as Nick's the rears will remain active (but not beeping) until you reach a few mph, about the same as when the doors lock. I can reverse into a space and they become active, if I get to close they get excited, if I take it out of gear they stop sounding but will start again if someone walks behind the vehicle even if I am in neutral, but only if I have just used reverse. As sooon as I get to the speed that the doors lock they won't be active.

Neither the D3 or FL2 remain on once they are taken out of reverse.

We reverse up to our garage every night where the beeps are going crazy, as soon as they are taken out of reverse they stop beeping even though the garage is only inches away from the bumpers, only the front ones on the D3 remain active until you move forward at about 6mph then they switch off. ______________________

looks like I have a problem then, back to garage.

had a feeling it didnt do it when i picked it up at the weekend, seemed to start today.

I don't think you have a fault, it's normal.
You should not get any beeping if you are in a traffic jam though unless you reversed in it.

Mine cOme on automatically when selecting reverse

They will beep if I am near a wall straight away and will keep active but not beeping until I reach a forward speed and the doors kocknor there abouts, since the back sensors are on the front are on too, they will beep also if something gets near

Both my front or rear sensor keep beeping in D, N, R and will only deactivate once P is selected

Reactivating only by selecting R or pressing the button on the dash
